Once in a while you find someone so free, so original, you want to spend more time to absorb some of that magic. Meet Patrick Barr, photographer.

Patrick caught the photo bug when he was in highschool. He’s been shooting ever since. He is self taught, and he is prolific. Although he has a digital camera now, most of his work is still on this old Pentax cameras and he uses CVS or Duane Reade to develop his photos. Patrick captures moments in New York that you can only get if you are patient and persistent.

I met Patrick on Prince and Mulberry Street, where he has set up his photos for sale. What caught my attention was actually Patrick hitting lunchbox milk cartons with a golf club. He has excellent form and a tight grouping of cartons that landed on the other side of a empty lot he was playing on.

I purchased 2 photos from Patrick, which he threw in a couple of frames. They were $10 a piece and worth a whole lot more. How do you price a lifetime of dedication?
